It's the Freakin' Weekend

Even though its freezing cold out (literally. check out that crazy post below) I actually have a nice little weekend planned. As hard as it is too say goodbye to BFT, I'm finding so much joy in having free time. Freedom to just enjoy wherever life takes me. Tis a great thing.

Tonight, we're having brrrrrgers (get it? its horrible. I know. I love it.) at a new joint in the hood. Mel's burgers. Looks super cute.

Tomorrow, just hanging around and yoga. Maybe tending to that dining room table shopping that I've been very slack about. And then going to the Joyce to see a dance performance. Which has the potential to be awesome. It's set to Andrew Bird, Chopin, and Dave Matthews Band?? Well, that sounds crazy. So, I'm curious.

I hope you have a splendid weekend with many enjoyable adventures. xo

Whoa.

This happened yesterday. The water tower on the right sprung a leak and the water has frozen due to the cold. That's just cray cray. Y'all's, its for reals cold out.

Dancing Queen

Is it just me or does QE look like a rockin' good time? Dancing. Making presidents giggle. Love her. Little fact: Elizabeth is creeping up on Queen Victoria as the longest-reigning British monarch, just another two-and-a-half years to catch her. Victoria reigned during the terms of 19 different Presidents but never met any of them and had an unfair advantage...lots of short terms and one-term Presidencies back then.

Say cheese!

I love cheese. And I love witty writing. Which is why I couldn't help but hearting this article.

My favorite write-ups are, of course, from Bedford Cheese Shop. I've never been to the BK one but I love the one near Gramercy. Obviously, after reading this, sssssomeonnnne is going to be making a stop at Fairway soon.

------

Mastorazio, Madaio The Lindsay Lohan of the cheese world, this pecorino has a tan, leathery exterior that surrounds a delicate yellow paste. With hints of herbs and the aroma of hay, you can almost hear the bleating of Lindsay up in the Italian hills. Pair with nicotine, Red Bull and an alcohol monitor.

Andante Dairy Nocturne Icelandic ponies. Japanese cats on the Internet. Yawning puppies. Toddlers who give each other hugs. Goats climbing all over everything. Pink and green macaroons. Red pandas. Sparkly nail polish. Do you get where I’m going? Cute things. This cheese is so perfect and cute and delicious you just want to marry it. Or buy one and eat it.

Happy 2013

Alright, I admit it. I'm been completely slack and unworthy of even saying I have a blog. But as the new year is in full swing, and I'm back in the pattern of everyday responsibilities, I think its a great time to revisit my intentions for the new year and say Happy New Year to you.

I think this the first year where I didn't resolve to try to make myself  "better". That's not to say, I didn't have anything involving vanity... Um, hello, have you seen me rocking make-up everyday?! The truth is, I'm doing it because it makes me feel happier. A little brighter. And that's the basis of all my New Year's intentions. Play more with make-up (thank you Allie and Jamie for your sponsorship). Write a letter a week (working on my old school penmanship, bare with me). Do more creative things (hello, craft night and museums!). These are all things I want to do more that make my life fuller. So, after a month into our new year, I wish happiness to us in 2013.
