Hello, Weekend, Hello

So this is likely my favorite weekend of the year. Every year, I get excited to see hats in varying shapes, colors, and pageantry. Hear stories of horses, jockeys, and owners that did think they could or ever would. Every year, I get excited to have a rita and some melted cheese perhaps multiple times in one day. But mostly, I love the excuse to get together with my friends and enjoy all these things I love in one scene. This year, I'm making my own Tex-Mex for a fiesta in the park, attending a friend's Derby party in the neighborhood, and celebrating Emma's birthday with some lavender gin drinks at the Ace Hotel.
